I know that some mailing list managers can automatically handle
bouncing messages and even the occasional administrivia that people
send to the main list address, like "subscribe" and "unsubscribe". If
I'm not mistaken, mailman can do this. Not only that, mailman gives
you mbox-style downloadable archives per month, which is great for
people who like keeping archives (to be indexed by remem, perhaps?).

I suppose there is a Very Good Reason why we're not using something
like that. So, what is it? =) If it's simply because no one else can
host it, I could try asking around - I don't have any servers of my
own, but since we're relatively low-traffic, we might be able to find
someone willing to host it for free.

What do people think?
