newbie help.

Hello,

I am new to the group and to wearable computers (well to the idea
of making my own) I have been interested in the idea ever since I
saw something on TV (PBS maybe) a long time ago about Steve Mann
and MIT.

Anyway I hope to build my own in the next year or as my finances
allow me to buy the parts. I was figuring on starting with PC/104
board. I figured I would stick with what seems to be the standard
(from the reading I have been doing) the Advantech PCM-5822, but I
can't seem to find a source or a price on this. Anyone know where
to get one and how much it will run me?

I will also get a laptop hard drive (20 gigs). I figured this would
be a good place to start.. attempting to install and configure linux
with my current input/output hardware (keyboard/crt). Then I will get
the twiddler so I can practice input.. then last purchase the monocular.

My other question revolves around the power supply. I am not sure as to
what is needed to make this thing work off of batteries. Any help
would be greatly appreciated. I am excited to get started.

thanks,
Jeremy
