If the TV out isn't important to you this may be fine. I would recommend calling them for the price of the 5822 if you were to order over the phone. I've noticed their complete selection is not available from their web store. > I will definately need some guided direction on the > power supply issue > I can solder, but electronics is not my strong > point. Pin 1 is for a switch - which I personally do not use. Pins 2-4 treat as a single pin and connect together - they are where the input voltage goes according to the specs 9-38V. Pins 5-8 go to ground or negative of your input voltage. Pins 9-11 are your output voltage (5V) to the computer. Since it automatically operates at 5V - you don't need pin 12 to tweak the voltage. There are 2 capacitors that are needed : 1 ) 1 microFarad between the voltage in and ground 2) Also a 100 microFarad electrolytic goes between the output voltage and ground. The capacitors are for stabilizing the the power. Fairly simple. > I also want to hook my GPS up via serial port. I have a couple projects ahead of it - but I plan on hooking my etrex up to it.
