I like those, but I think there is a better solution. Available
right now is the fossil PDA watch,

which is compatible with data from the Palm or PocketPC
handhelds, and which is almost a literal wearable computer.
It's designed to hold your computer data, and display it,
allowing navigation through a joypad below the watch face.
Additionally, I found a link the other day, about a new model
they're coming out with this year. It has a 160x160 pixel
touchscreen display, runs PalmOS, and *is* a Palm V series
handheld in wristwatch format. They developed a new font
to help keep it readable, but otherwise it *is* a wearable,
and it's being released this year.

I just bought my first Palm (I have 2 other handhelds, and
several pocket sized clamshells), and I must say it's a slick
package...they did it right, and the wealth of additional software
is a blessing. And, there are programming languages that run
*ON* the device, so you're not limited! OK...enough about
my new Palm.

Aye, that's the rub...it's expensive. Retail for the current version
of the PDA watch is $160US, and the new one will be around
$200, if memory serves. Not bizarre, but not "toy" priced, yet.
Considering that a Palm V is just a 1984 Mac on a chip, with
a tiny bit of memory...I'm surprised they don't sell for $5!
Now, back to the Fossil watch. It's a turnkey wearable system
in a VERY inoffensive form, and which comes with its own battery
and charger. (4 days life, again from memory) Real wearables are
about to hit the mainstream!
