Oops, of course, minutes after sending this, I stumble accross this document: http://www.viavpsd.com/product/3/4/EPIA M Operating Guidelines Version 1.10.pdf It looks like the ME6000 runs 7-8 watts higher than the 5000. It sits at about 16 watts when idle, or minimally used, and jumps up to around 22 when performing intensive tasks, like DVD playback. That means you'd drain about an additional 0.6 amps every hour, from a 12v battery.
