well about that first viewfinder mentioned, I doubt you can do anything in 
the way of text, most of those things cannot even come close to what it takes 
for clear and defined text, but you could hack yourself a fairly compact and 
low cost "nightvision" setup, depending on the camera you get, and the IR 
LEDs you choose to use as a light source 

about the latter of the LCDs, that might have some potential but I doubt any 
higher resolution than 150x120 or something on the order of that, to find any 
documentation on the units, the best way is to enter the information on the 
chips you see visible, I know Iv'e found countless obscure Texas Instruments 
ICs this way, alot of them archaic memory controllers and registers
