Questions from a newbie

I have been interested in wearable computers for a few
years now. I think I have most of the stuff worked out
for a design for one. My one issue right now though is
batteries. I was thinking of useing laptop batteries.
Are they any good? What about external chargers? The
display I plan to use runs off of 12 volts and the
mobo runs 5 volts. how easy would it be to have one
set of batteries run the mother board/HD and the
display. What about battery life? I would like to have
a min of 5 hours battery life. I was thinking of just
hooking up the batteries in parallel to extend battery
life.

This is the display I am thinking of using.

Any thoughts on this display? I am not sure how
comfortable it would be to look at sitting in front of
one eye

Thanks Jennifer
