I was barely able to convince my = dad to let me use his Paypal account so anyone who wishes to purchase = them from me should get a Paypal accound (because I don't know of any = other method of payment thats safe for me). Another thing, I haven't got = the chips YET but I hopefully WILL get them (sometime*) lol. I really = don't wanna sell most of them (because I have so many displays I want to = play with), but I should share with a community that NEEDS them badly. I = ask you people this: Why don't you just bug Motorola for a week and get = the sample chips that way? It might take a while but at least you can = get them for free... -------------------------------------- Here's what I did: Went here: https://e-www.motorola.com/webapp/register.jsp Registered Created a service request under: Catagory: Product Comments Topic: Product Complaint I went and blabed about how I couldn't get the chips, and none of the = authorized distrubitors had no clue what the part was. (Maybe you people = should call them again because they might've fixed that). Anyways if you = can't get the "authorized" people to get any for you, continue on with = writing this service request. (becuase you couldn't get the chips from = the other companies) Go and continue to write your service request and = reffer to Service Request number 1-59913909 (That's mine). Umm... and send it? -------------------------------------- I guess that's it unless I missed something. Anyways, good luck at = trying to get them (btw: it took me about a month because I = procrastanated on the suggestions the lady gave me), oh and you may have = to re-open the service request several times. I WILL sell SOME of my = chips though. Here's the list of people so far (at most I will be willing to sell 15) Chip List: Chuck Knight (2-3) Dan Vasaru (2 wont mind if bundle w/ displays) Bryan Hurley (2) Making boards: Alex (Kill-9) (any amount of chips) Justin (Technomage) (any amount of chips) Also If anyone could help me map the Application circuit to PCB123 and = give me the file IT WOULD BE VERY VERY helpful (I like their software = because it allows fast and easy component placement and board resizing, = plus autorouting), and yes I am working on it but i'm becoming = increasingly lazy and their software isn't the easiest out there (credit = goes out to technomage who did it all by hand pretty much)... I guess = I'll limit 2 per person (unless they can give me PCB123 schematics or = some really really good board, then i'll literally give the chips to = you). Also a design project for you people is not to make the board = really really tiny, but instead make it "long" so that It can fit on the = thingys on the glasses and then cover it in that instant rubber stuffs = and make truely embedded HMD glasses (thanks for the idea Bryan). Your 15 year old gadget maker, Brian Kuriyama PS: if you need any more help or run into problems or whatevers with = trying to obtain samples from Motorola, just give me a buzz and I'll do = my best to help. (I think I covered everything, lol) ----- Original Message -----=20 From: Brian Kuriyama=20 To: wearhard mailing list=20 Sent: Wednesday, July 23, 2003 8:31 PM Subject: Extremely good news: Kopin 320M Display Drivers Hi all. ok here it goes: first of all i hope this message gets through (because I don't think = the last 3 messages I sent got through) (and if it doesn't I hope to get = someone else to post it for me) . ok and 2nd of all... I GOT 20 FREE DRIVER CHIPS!!!!. this nice lady named Pamela from Motorola helped me with = getting the chips but for about a month I was going nowhere. but today she = called and she told me that she could get me 20 SAMPLE CHIPS!!! = (WHOOOOHOOOOO!!!). the only way this situation could get any better is if i was able to = get anymore chips (because i bought one of those 42 display auction = thingys). anyways that leaves about 22 displays to sell or experiment with = (create my own drivers or whatnot)... ok the main reason that i posted this = message (or at least tried) was to let you people in on how i got the chips and to advertise the chips if anyone wants them or my 22 extra displays. oh = yeah and again "COMPLAINING WITH MOTOROLA DOES WORK!!!" It may have taken a month, but I am extremely happy on what my results were.. Hmm what = else?... Oh yes... Does anyone have pre-made circuit boards or layouts I could use (I = know Technomage over there built a homemade driver board). I was planning = on useing the PCB123 autorouting software to help me with this part (but = I'm really, really lazy, but I really, really need to do it). Anyways I = was told to expect the chips much later (because it's comming directly from = Hong-Kong or something)(but still... at least I'm getting SOME chips rather than none), and so that leaves me with lots of time to create the boards. Again, if anyone knows of an easier and cheaper way, please feel free = to contact me at anytime (preferrably through AIM: FunboyHI) and the same = goes for the selling stuff part... Best wishes to everyone else who desires the chips, Your 15 year old gadget maker, Brian Kuriyama ------=_NextPart_000_0063_01C355C0.A4C17710 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 6.00.2800.1170" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Hi peoples of wearables,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Hmm ok... here's how it is right now... = I was=20 barely able to convince my dad to let me use his Paypal account so = anyone who=20 wishes to purchase them from me should get a Paypal accound (because I = don't=20 know of any other method of payment thats safe for me).
