the last guy was right, but still... even you may have the capabilites of a
space shuttle, you still gotta take into account you looks, after all you
dont wanna look like your part of a wierd electro-nueral-bio experiment.
sure some people may not care what they look like, but most people do.
because most people do care about their looks, the xybernaut system never
took off and pretty much every other wearable computer out there. they were
only limited to industrial types of customers who had very limited social
contact, and they didn't use it every day. lemme ask you this? would you go
and sit down at your favorite coffe shope and then get about a billion wierd
looks and laughs, making you the most embarassed person there, or having
this wearable that blends in with your body and personality that peaple
"ooo" and "aaaa" at? wearable computing may be one thing, but if it bulky,
obtrusive, and ugly, what would make a person "want" to wear it unless they
had too? I'll admitt that someday (maybe even in my time) wearable computing
will become a regular, but still, it's like, it won't ever become really
popular unless technology advances a helluv alot or some really smart
engineers get working... I don't know about you people, but i would like to
follow in Don Papp's footsteps and create something that doesn't looking
like you have a crt strapped to your head and take wearable computing to the
covert level. to me wearable computing is part art, engineering,
imagination, and determination, and a butt load of skill....
