Re: Input Devices

I just use a touch sesitive tablet with stylus, connected or thin client mode.
I dont ever do a lot of text input though, or I'd use a desktop, I tried the
twiddler, but it hurt my hand/finger joints after a while using it (more
cables Arrghh!), so handwriting rec or virtual keyboard.

I never used HMD sys, well not moving about, because I dont like to restrict
my view, infact in the UK I think there would be Health and safety issues
using such sys if someone was working in any kind of potentially harmful
situation, because of the restriction of vision and dizziness that they can
cause. So I like sall tablet pcs in a drop down pocket and stylus like a
sketch pad I guess. Also give good processing power and you can take it off
and plug a decent ergonomic keyboard into it and then you can use it
comfortably seated.

I havent come across any word per minute evaluations of such sys, or pointing
device empirical evaluations of that kind of thing but there must be some in
the public domain (not on wearables). I think we have a number of technical
reports on that kind of thing in the department, but they are pending
publication
