Yes, killing the display and backlight will help.  I have a couple of
batteries I would swap out back when I was attempting to use the
Zaurus as a regular PDA.  I intend to just swap batteries as
necessary, at least initially.

I'd really like to have a single camcorder battery (as is the custom
here) with a few leads coming off of it, one for the Zaurus' external
DC connector, one for the Eyetop, maybe one for the USB hub, maybe a
fourth for the headset if I decide to use it.  I'm not really a
hardware person, though; I'd have to have it put together.
