COTS input devices

I finally have a good laptop (Toshiba M200), and am
thinking of ways to easily build a wearable. HUD for
output is impossible, since it's too expensive for me,
but i think i can live with audio only for output.
Voice recognition, however, isn't always socially
acceptable, and doesn't have good enough bandwidth,
imho. So far, i have three alternatives:

1. Nostromo n52. I think it weighs 0.5 kg, but that's
with extra weight, so maybe someone can tell me how
little it can weigh when lightened. It seems easy to
use, not too bulky or conspicuous, but i've read that
its keys are too stiff for typing.

2. Webcam (with gesture recognition). I think two
would be better, since i could have stereosopic data,
but it's not too important for now. I think the
logitech orbit would be a good candidate, since it
doesn't seem to be huge (smaller would be better,
obviously), has mechanical pan&tilt, and can do
320x240 @ 30 fps (i can't seem to find any webcam that
does better than that). Also has the advantage of
being extremely versatile.

3. Half qwerty, frogpad, ... More expensive than the
webcams and less versatile than webcams.

(4. tac mics, but i think they're expensive :)

So, erh. Do you have any advice or suggestion?

Thank you
