On or around Aug 25, OKI annouced a 5mm SMT package for a tri-axis accelerometer: http://www.oki.com/en/press/2004/z04054e.html Epson and NGK have the perfect dip to go with that chip - a 5mm SMT package gyroscope: http://www.epson.co.jp/e/newsroom/news_2004_08_02.htm If I had the programming/soldering skills, I would loe to play with these things myself, but that represents a couple years of spare time I don't have.
