Hi all. As part of a research project, I am looking into head-mounting a ~3MP still camera. As with all head-mounted things, small size and weight is crucial. So my concept for a prototype was to try and split a digital camera in two; moving screen, battery, memory card, USB interface etc off the head. On the market are/were several cameras seemingly designed for this; the optics are swivel-mounted to lie flat with the rest of the body for storage: Kyocera FinePix SL300R, several Nikons, like Coolpix [3500, SQ, 995] To me it seems the swivel joint would have put a priority on having a low number of electrical connections between the halves (maybe a dozen, but not a hundred). These I could then extend with a (suitably shielded etc) cable for a short distance. Before I get a camera and take it apart, I wanted to ask: Is this something that has been tried? Am I missing something? (Like a commercially available 3MP "spy" video camera? :-) And has anybody seen how these cameras are connected? /Stellan _______________________________________________ Wear-Hard mailing listhttp://www.haven.org/mailman/listinfo/wear-hard
