laptop wearable

I got a dell inspiron 8000 laptop for xmas and I am
thinking of using that as a wearable. I have pretty
much everything figured out asside from a couple of
things. One issue is battery life. One website
sugested splicing the power cable and hooking that up
to some batteries. I would rather not have to do that.
I have 3 batteries right now, I am thinking of getting
some more and just hot swapping as needed. The other
issue is overheating. If I have the laptop in a
backpack turned on, how can I prevent the laptop from
overheating? I live in WA state, so its cold and rainy
most of the time but durring the summer it gets realy
hot here. It can get up into 90's here in the summer.
One more thing. At some point I plan on getting a USB
twiddler. Would a USB twiddler be able to bring the
laptop out of standby mode?
