While RCA jacks are readily available, I'd advise against this approach. Three desireable traits you're looking for are 1) positive locking, 2) covered positive terminal and 3) ground makes connection first. If you must use RCA, I'd suggest that you make the battery output use female jacks with a full sheath. This would help cut down on accidental shorts (but due to the nature of the connector, not totally prevent them). An inline fuse would be cheap insurance.
