Archos PDA + Gumstix as core of a wearable computer

Hello all,

since you've been discussing
 - input facilities
 - interfaces
 - HMD
these last days, the Archos PMA430
	http://www.archos.com/products/overview/pma_400_tech_specs.html
might be an interesting device to consider:
	- NTSC/PAL video out (i've tested it with several HMDs)
	- video in with realtime MPEG encoding (dedicated DSP for this
		purpose)
	- USB host!! interface (can drive BT adapters)
	- 30GB harddisk
	- Linux using a 2.4 kernel => full access to sources and potential
		extensions

I'm experimenting with 2 of those right now - and basically further
progress is mainly limited/delayed by available time.

External devices can (from my point of view) best be implemented using
Gumstix boards
	http://www.gumstix.com/
which have an integrated BT transceiver and a 400MHz StrongARM core.

best regards
 Ralf
