suggestions for a wearable in-front-of-body video

Dear wearharders,

in our academic research project easyADL
www.cs.umu.se/research/easyadl
we want to capture things taking place directly in front of the users
body. Ideal specs for the wearable system would be:
1) at least 12 hours continuous video capture (e.g. near full day)
2) at least 320x200 pixel resolution at 5 frames per second, preferably
640x480 at 10 fps
3) wide angle lens and camera hung around the neck (like Thad Starners
gesture pendant) or placed on one shoulder, able to capture hand
movements and objects in front of the user.

Our initial idea for a setup is a PDA + 1GB memory card and USB web cam.
Problems with this setup is the narrow lens on standard webcams, battery
consumption, and identifying the best compression scheme/file format for
the 12 hour 1 GB video stream.

Any suggestions for alternative setups and/or concrete suggestions for
what camera/lens/PDA to use are very welcome.

	Thomas
