Hello,

quite a number of interesting HW sugestions. Here is another one:
  Archos PMA430 (PDA with 30GB Harddisk, running Linux / Qt)
=> has MPEG-4 realtime encoding using its integrated DSP
    (actually there is an ARM core for general PDA functionality and
 	a DSP for media specific tasks)
  + USB host! port for extensions

The device also outputs PAL/NTSC. Not my primary choice because I'm using 
a SV-6 with VGA in, might be interesting for M1 users though. I have 2 of 
these devices here, because I've been sitting next door to the developers 
of the device for about a year.
