I've got a Sony Vaio U70p which is essentually a UMPC that you could buy
over the last few years; 800x600 200dpi touch screen, no keyboard (small
foldable one comes with, but not attached), 1.1GHz
Pentium M (about 2x the speed of an OQO), 20GB drive, 512MB RAM, USB 2,
VGA w. small dongle, 802.11b, 5 hours with extended battery, same price
as an OQO. ~1.1lbs

It works rather well driving an SV-6 and a USB digitizer pulling in
640x480 video. Battery life should be better once I get around to the
shutting off the backlight and screen, but I've been lazy/busy of late.

Based on that experience the current and what I see coming in the next
generation of Intel mobile processors (should be even better in terms of
battery life and performance) the UMPCs should provide one or two suitable
wearable platforms with very respectable performance and I/O in the next
year... I'd guess 30% cheaper too, although still north of 1K at least in
the first year.

My 2 cents,
-chris
