Once I can afford to build a wearable I plan on building it off a palm top PC. So far I have been looking at the OQO and the Sony VAIO UX. Unfortunately there some problems I have with both of them. My complaint with the OQO is the lack of a microphone input. I wonder how hard it would be to hack the built in microphone to put in a microphone jack.? aside from that the OQO seems like a good choice for a wearable
The Sony VAIO® UX has a microphone jack. Unfortunately the port replicator isn't suitable for wearable use. It is a desktop device you set the UX on. It wouldn't work to well stuffed into a fanny pack. I have some slight issues with the OQO's port replicator cable, but at least it would fit in a fanny pack.
As of right now, the QOQ seems like the better bet for a wearable. Does anyone know of any other windows XP palm top PC's? Jennifer
