I haven't seen inside it, but if you want something that runs well and look=
s
good, pay the extra for the monocle. depending on what your personal time i=
s
worth, it probably makes more sense just to buy it ready to go. There may b=
e
electronics behind the screen in the binocular one, and it is definitely
larger, and heavier than the monocle, so even if you could just cut it in
half, you still have to come up with a support mechanism for it...
