Well, I'm no expert, since I'm just using the webpage
specs to go on, but I do see that it lists 16 Megs
of on-board Flash and the CF slot as separate items.

My guess is the OS kernel and drivers are stored in
that 16M.  It also lists 64 or 128 Megs of ram.

Assuming you used their kernel binaries, you should
have a pretty usable busybox system, instantly.

Add a large (eg. 16Gig) CF card and you would have a
huge amount of userland space to play with.
(Even 12Gig cards would be more than my MP3 player...)

Stack one of those tiny USB hubs on the USB 1.1 host
port for flash-stick/Twiddler/Wifi/Bluetooth swapping,
and you would never again need to touch the "on-board"
CF slot.

Lastly, of course, hook up a Micro-Optical to the VGA
and you have a nearly-turnkey wearable (powering it
would still need to be figured out)
