I can tell you what paused me; Waiting to see how various newer devices
played out like the UMPCs, iPhone, etc. but more importantly, HUD
resolution and technology.

The SV-6 works okay, but it's still too big and clumbsy for every day for
me (and most people). Further, it doesn't have enough resolution for what
I really want to do with it.
Basically I found myself wanting to rebuild Mann's latest fiberoptic and
laser back lit EyeTap set up.

I think the world is moving along the wearable computing route via all
sorts so other less explicit angles; iPhone, devices with GPS awareness
(cameras doing geo tagging, Pocket PCs), bluetooth in ear
speaker/microphones that are small enough to be worn all the time and have
better noise cancelling and audio playback (Jawbone), those headsets
talking to other devices (iPod, iPhone, PDA, UMPC), voice xml making slow
progress, Vista's improved voice recognition on a UMPC, multitouch
displays, etc, etc.

The pieces are all still in play and moving, but the "wearable computing"
strategy isn't explicitly called out in most of them.
