Looks like the folks at Madrid's Carlos III University are working on an HMD to display subtitles for the hearing impaired. The device is an HMD mounted on eyeglasses with an internal battery and wireless receiver with a 50 meter range. (Sounds like Bluetooth.) The design looks sound. I wonder what they will cost and if there might be an option to use one as a wearable display. Even if it is text only, it would be good IMO. And even if the display is not conductive to a wearable, it is a move in the right direction, IMO. I just hope the cost is low enough to be affordable.
