much better would of course be, to build gloves out of the membrane, so the
keyboard becomes wearable rather than just portable.
Create more membrane interfaces.
There should be a data transmitting interface in the palms anyway. A shake of
the hand could be a great data transfer ritual.
How about a light sensitive sensor in the colar. Or in an area in the back of
the head. Historically there used to be a third eye there, just giving
information about the amount of light available. This would be an ideal place
for just that. A light sensor would just control the amount of light available
in the head area and then adjust the contrast on the display accordingly. (It
is a slight problem with wearable systems: that there is a more radical change
in lighting conditions than with stationary systems.)

The hands are good for dataentry anyway. Braile seems to be a great example of
"data entry"
There are little scanners on the market that can read just one line of text,
ocr it and then translate into english. (we are talking mainstream technology,
"sharper image" store)
It would be nice to place just the light sensor in the tip of the index finder.
Then some typing would be pretty obsolete anyway.
Typing in general seem slightly oldfashioned?.
Can there be just one of these little red IBM thinkpad dots on the tip of the
other hand (the writing hand, as oppose to the reading hand) that would be
connected to a "graffiti" like language input...palmpilot style?
