I think the group purchase messages are fine in this group, but I think we would scare fewer people from this list if it were moved to a newsgroup. Even if some people would prefer to have a mailing list, what is stopping the formation of say: comp.sys.wearable? I'd try to set it up myself, but I think you have to write up a full page justification and get people to vote on it.
