Special Mechanical Engineering Mobile Workstation A mechanical drawing jotter, allowing to draw sketches from superimposed images. You would have a private eye and from a freezed frame be able to sketch a drawing. (this could be also interesting to artists...) 2. Mobile Technical drawings and documentation Workstation You could have two computers, one having a http server (wearable) with the documents or a wireless connection, and a PDA with a browser (Maybe a newton, because of the bigger display area). You could consult online documentation and drawings stored in the wearable through the pda. This would be very useful for boat, plant, airplane inspection. Besides part and maintenace searching, you could create html forms to use as checklists for systems auditing or aircraft verification. The connection between the pda and the browser could be ppp connection on a serial cable. I believe incorporating a kind of tablet (in this case a pda would do the job) to the wearable system could increase usability and usefulness. Goggles and a twiddler are useful for mobile situations, but for "semi-mobile" situations specially if you would like to show your work with other people a tablet comes in handy. NOTE: There are thousands of possible specialized situations where you can put a wearable to improve things, but what we need are things like 2. that are general tools that can be applied to all those situations.
