I have one very simple idea nevertheless:
Use e.g 3-4 different materials with different reflection coefficients,
and exchange them manually as a simple starter (until I learn more physics...)
reminds a little about those Polarids you hang over your glasses, which
you rarely see nowadays.

10    % for night driving.
40-50 % for everyday use
90    % for the beach (happens very seldom in my case)
