Several people expressed negative feelings about gating the mail list to a newsgroup. Namely, there is concern that posts could be harvested by spammers for email addresses. It's pretty easy to cross-post email to a newsgroup and vice versa for alot of people, so I personally don't see any real need for mixing the two. My impression is that the wear-hard list owners will endorse whatever the list users agree on, but gating mail->news wasn't agreed to be a good idea. -Paul -- R.
