I went to MedTronic's site and found this page:

There are a lot of different electrodes. Which ones would be the
correct ones for this kind of experiment? 

Have I got it correct that when your brain in some way activates the
motorneuron under the electrode, it generates a small current that is
amplified by the amplifier into an audible signal?
