Often when people talk about UNIX-like OS's they're talking about
varying degrees of conformance with the POSIX standards. NT is more
POSIX compliant than 95, that's for sure. If you really want
UNIX-feel on Windows try GNUWIN32 from Cygnus (www.cygnus.com). As
for the Mac - it's anyone's guess. They talk a lot about the Mach
kernel, but nothing solid yet!
However, it isn't that Wearables are inherently UNIX-oriented - it's
that they require a highly modifiable OS that drives them toward
Linux. The day the NT or MacOS source is released to the public to
modify is the day that they'll be viable contenders for wearable
system design.
