Scott Edward Electronics (http://www.seetron.com) offers Serial Server Controllers SSCs for $29 to $44, depending on the model, and whether you want a kit or preassembled. These control up to 8 r/c servos each, and you can put a max of 32 SSCs on a serial port, to control up to 255 servos. As far as feedback is concerned, I would check their section on Basic Stamp chips. It would be very easy to roll your own.
