I just checked out their web page and it says that they have 5
button navigation (through the 5 buttons) 6 month average battery
life (2xcr2025 lithium), and a high contrast 160x98 pixel (9 lines of text
at ~40 columns).

It sounds like you can't use the REX while its synchronizing.. maybe
there's a workaround though (like smacking it open and reprogramming it.
