That sounds a lot for 36 LEDs to me. I suppose you do get the ready made
PCB and everything though.
I used to make commercial "Black Light" stuff on a part time job whilst
at school. It was the most boring job on the planet. We used to have
to solder together strings of hundreds of infra red LEDs and fit them into
plastic tubes. These were then strung up around the periphery of secure
enclosures so that security guards with night vision headsets could spot
intruders easily. It's surprising how little infra red you need to
illuminate a large area. We once did a test where someone took a black
light handset (something similar to the bgmicro's thing, but mounted in a
handset with a battery pack) and drove to the top of the nearest hill to
the factory (about four miles away) at night. When he shone the thing at
the factory, you could see the whole thing lit up by it (with the night
vision goggles).

On a similar topic, has anyone managed to buy one of those CMOS cameras
from Vision? I tried to buy one a few months ago, but they wouldn't sell
to me because I wasn't a business considering buying several thousand of
them. I was just wondering if anyone else has had any better look. For
that matter, has anyone else managed to get hold of any decent low cost
digital camera-on-a-chip's (it's the type with a digital output I'm
talking about, not the analogue only ones).

Best wishes, Alex.
