oh no, Linux doesnt need gobs of memory. In fact linux runs quite happily in 1/2 the ram required to get windows to run. Benchmarking puts a 486 with 16 meg of ram faster than a SGI workstation. and Xwindows runs as fast on that 486 as a Windows95 machine that has 32 meg on a 586p133. I run linux on my 386 wearable without X and am quite happy with it's speed, everything comes up fast, just dont re-compile the kernel or try to compile communicator on it. (I do all my compiling on my development station and then download to the wearable.) I'm planning on running a small version of X with a B&W server and a simple windows manager.
