When I wrote Plug and Play I was not thinking in the Windows 95 P&P but
in a shrink-wrap solution like the NetWinder. The NetWinder includes
network, irDA, digital audio, video in/out and a hard disk all in the
same box. If you want to build such a system with PC/104 boards then you
will have to stack several boards, possibly from different
manufacturers, and find drivers for your OS.

They are small, light and use few power... But I belive it can be quite
difficult to expand them.
