The main problem is that the Winder runs quite hot (the case is so cramped
that it has a poor air flow inside it, even with forced air cooling), so
you need to somehow maintain a good air flow to it.

I think I have a similar idea to you. And, I would say that the
hardware is sufficient, and all the required apps should port easily
enough, providing source code is available. The problem is commercial
products, which are usually only released in binary form for the most
common platform. If, for example, IBM released DragonSpeak for Linux, it
would most likely only be available for Intel. That's something we just
have to live with, and eventually eliminate by replacing all the major
commercial applications with better quality Open Source alternatives.
