well, since the PC/104 people are making them stackable for industrial
apps, that just happen to have similiar usage patterns as wearables....

they work in hot vibrating environments and such, but are in little boxes,
not on people's backs. The only people I know that are making flexible
stuff are Via. and it is pretty nice, so when they sell it, hopefully it
won't cost too much.

They have a Cyrix processor and what looked like supporting logic, maybe
video, I don't know, all in an about 2" wide, <=1mm thick avg, 18" long
about, flexible board.

Other than that, they have things to allow you to put PC/104 modules next
to one another, instead of stacking, and you can put your PCMCIA module up
to 2' away I think using specific boards, so you could have two boards
next to each other on your lower back, then a cable coming around to the
front with PCMCIA slots in it, and the other side all your ports, only an
inch or so thick avg probably. the NFP-950s would be the thickest part.
