Well actually yes you can fry your floppy controller board by plugging and unplugging while on. but laptops are the same. In fact every laptop I have owned that had an external floppy stated," unplugging the floppy drive with the laptop on will void the warrenty and possibly destroy components." but having the unit pluggable saves one from having to dismantle the wearable to plug in the floppy. and will allow shutdown, plug in floppy, power up on the bus, plane, anywhere. ---------- > From: hurley bryan <> > To: Tim Gray <
