I thought we were talking about Linux here. All you do is compile in
ramdisk support (or insert the ramdisk module) and mount /dev/ram0
somewhere. Or, more likely in this case, you would use the initrd facility
to store a compressed root FS in an image on the CD, and Linux would then
decompress it onto /dev/initrd automatically which you can them mount as /
Why not grab a copy of tomsrtbt and have a play with that?
