 The worst I've seen is at system powerup, when you get a nice spike
to about 7 watts. Once the system has settled down (drive spun up, 
OS booting, etc) power consumption drops down to the 5 watt figure. 
This is the "heavy use" draw. From there, when you go into idle,
it drops into the 2.5 watt range.
