Hi, folks - I seem to be having REAL addressing problems (About every
3rd e-mail I address - even those that're REPLIES - gets returned to me
as undeliverable. Including e-mail to you, Charles, so this will
contain the "nightly summary" below.) I'm asking my ISP to talk to me
about it!
So if you're waiting for a response from me, I may've tried to
respond, or may not've received your mail. I'll post to the folks on
the entire list in a couple days, once I answer the current "Burning
Questions" list, with better details on the bulk purchase. And then
verify where each person on the list stands, to them.
At this point, I think we can do a bulk purchase in a week or so, but
(from what I hear) we will have to have all the registers go to ONE
location, then disburse just the CPU boards from there (I can pull the
cards out here, and ship them out, and recycle the rest of the
registers, if I do the bulk purchase, that'd be OK, though I might not
get it all done in one day!) I'll make sure I know the facts, though,
in a day or two.
Burning Questions & totals follow:
[Charles, please consider this rev. 0 mod 3]:
"BURNING QUESTIONS":
Does the on-board IDE controller support HD's over 527 Mb?
If so, How, specifically? {LBA, EDPT, ???}
(Those using Linux, does it matter if not? Just partition
it!)
(Ditto for Win95, right?)
What speed are the UARTs? {SCM web pages don't cover these
chips, anymore.)
What are the power interface needs, voltage, current, etc.?
Is EDO Ram compatible with this machine?
Is the floppy cable standard? Is the Epson floppy drive
(SMD-1140?) included, if not, how much to add one?
Is the PCMCIA Dock actually included, or not?
Shipping: HUB is apparently required; Can they ship just the
CPU boards, or ship the entire mess to here & I pull the
boards, or ???
DEFINITELY: [5]
PROBABLY: [5]
MAYBE: [1]
Remotely Possibly: [1]
