Patricia Perhaps having a good selection of maps available to view using the M1 will be benifit enough. The GPS may be more useful outside of downtown because you are typically moving faster and there are fewer landmarks. Have you found any good maps to scan yet? BTW, I've never looked at the format of the SA files. Also, I just recieved a catelog from Delorme. They now have topographic maps of the US available on 4CDs or one DVD for US100. I also saw a set of national geographic maps on CD at Comp USA a couple of weeks ago; I believe it was around US70. It was all of the map supplements that came in the mags since 1887, however almost all of their maps are too small scale to be of much use to a traveler. They are better used for arm chair viewing of larger regions. glenn kc4qfg -- Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with subject of "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" toWear-Hard Mailing List Archive (searchable): http://wearables.ml.org
