Alex,

In this case, you get what you pay for.  Look at it not in component cost
but as a complete system.

The battery is a Molicel Lithium-Ion battery from Moli Energy Limited.  43.3
Wh at 11.1V.

Yes but it is embedded in the system.

Again, accounting for the time it would take to solder your own RAM in and
manufacture an LCD solution, it works out to be much cheaper to purchase
their solution.  You know it works and is covered under warranty.
