The higher efficiency converters are Datels Single Output UNS Series of Non-Isolated 3.3V and 5V 10-15 watt dc/dc converters. They claim to be typically 92% efficient, but they are not yet in full production. I've ordered a couple and they said it would be 3-4 weeks before I would get them. They are pretty inexpensive ($34/unit). See their PDF white sheet at: http://www.datel.com/data/power/uns10-15.pdf Is isolation a big concern for wearables? (*electrical* isolation ;) -Paulwrote: > > However, this new Datel converter is VERY interesting. Post when you > know more. > > Thad Starner > MIT Media Laboratory > Wearable Computing Project -- R.
