laptop hard drive converter

I am looking for a source for converter cables that connect 50 pin toshiba
laptop hard drives to a conventional desktop 40 pin IDE with power
separate. I know that some manufacturers make cards that do this, but I
certainly don't want to expand the footprint of my PC104 by adding an 8"
card!

The MIT wearables page says that Toshiba Direct has them, but the phone
number is for a division of Toshiba that sells paper and office products,
and after two attempts, I have decided to agree with the nice people
answering the phone: They don't, in fact, sell this part!

In addition, I have spent many miserable moments being directed through
the Toshiba corporation's phonecall routing system, and I am beginning to
believe there is no cheese in that maze.

Any one know where I can purchase one before I start looking for the
connectors to solder one together? BTW, the MIT page lists the part as a
HD002KU2.5, but I think the actual part number is TAHD002KU25

-Thanks,

-Jim
