Hacking the Minstrel <-> Serial

I just ordered the Ministral for my PalmPilot but I
would rather use it with my Wearable via the Serial
port.  I know that some people have done this.  Could
anyone send me a howto, link or notes on how this can
be done and the parts.  I'd like to keep the Minstrel 
intact and use rewired connector of some kind.
