Are HMD/eye displays harmful?

From: Thomas Renard <>

Hello,

a friend of mine told me, that some german computer magazine tested
HMDs for games. They said that most of the people who tested the HMDs
have problems with their eyes now.

Ok, I heard about the simulation-syndrome some years ago but this
thing is something with the eyes (changing of lenses or so)

Any suggestions? What about one eye applications? Do you harm your
dominant eye if you use your display every day? What about the passive
none dominant eye?

If so - what are the alternatives of HMD to display graphics with
wearables outside?

Thomas
