LOL. I used to work at the Numerical Aerospace Simulations Facility at NASA/Ames Research Center. This building was considered NASA's premeire supercomputing facility. I was an intern on the Network/Web/Security team there for 2 years. The project you speak of, or an incredibly similar effort, involved thirty-something PPro 200s, networked with MiraNet (although they seemed to have switched to 100baseT) in an attempt to create a very inexpensive massively parallel distributed computing system.
